Next England Captain Odds
The next England Captain odds has Chelsea Captain, John Terry as the narrow favourite over Rio Ferdinand. It seems inevitable that Manager, Fabio Capello would have to select from the two but who he plumps for is still ‘up in the air’.

It is known that both men want the Captaincy and both would probably make a good job of it. Others who remain in the frame is Steven Gerrard and David Beckham, although it is likely that Beckham is not really being taken seriously as a contender, particularly as he might not make the team for much longer.
Some argue that the same could apply to Terry. There is no doubting his leadership skills and he is a top defender, but is he the best? There have been several murmurings that Terry is not good enough at the very top of the game. He lacks a bit of pace and is not all that comfortable with the ball at his feet. Ferdinand on the other hand is an excellent all round footballer, who has improved enormously over the last few years and is clearly a world class defender.
Both men would have the respect of their team mates and both play in the position where many think a Captain should play. They are the Captain’s of the two best club sides in the country right now and have had a few tremendous on the pitch battles this season, where overall, Ferdinand has come off best. Now the two look set to continue battling each other off the pitch. Odds have Terry at 11/10 and Ferdinand at 7/4. Gerrard is 9/2 and Beckham 10/1.
