The French Open Tennis Odds for this week's men's French Open Tennis Championships at Roland Gaross, sees three time consecutive winner, Rafael Nadal as clear favourite. It is little wonder too, Nadal, known as the King of clay, has yet to be beaten at the French Open. He has played here for the last three years and won every time, the last two times beating World Number One, Roger Federer in the final. In fact few people realise that Nadal has a 10-6 advantage over Federer in their head to head battles, and on clay, Nadal has only ever been beaten by him once. The only real surprise is that he is not the number one seed, that honour goes to Federer, presumably because he is the Number One Player in the World.
Top players have said that Nadal is unbeatable on clay, the fact that he has been beaten twice in a 118 matches say’s different, but only just. His record is simply amazing and he comes into the Tournament on the back of a clay court victory in Hamburg where he beat Novak Djokovic in the semi final and then Federer in the final, gaining a huge psychological advantage over his closest rivals. Having said that both took a set of Nadal and Djokovic in particular, will be kicking himself as he could have won his semi final in straight sets, had he remained consistent.
Nadal starts this year’s campaign against a qualifier, while Federer, faces relatively unknown American, Sam Querry in the first round. Querry in fact is growing in stature and has moved up to number 41 ranked player in the world and this year’s ATP Tour race he lies 22nd.
Djokovic faces, German, Denis Gemmelmayr, who is ranked 63 in the world. Despite never setting the ‘world on fire’, Gemmelmayr, is an experienced player and did well in the Australian Open this year, reaching the third round.
British fans will want to keep an eye on Andy Murray who plays Jonathan Eysseric of France, who turned 18 only this week and has yet to make his mark in Tennis. He is ranked 387 in the world.

Nadal is an incredible 4/11 odds on favourite to win, in a field of 128 players they are harsh odds for tennis backers, but unfortunately they are probably justified. Federer fans can back their man at 4/1, while Djokovic is a 6/1 shot. Odds for a Federer/Nadal final are 4/5 YES and 10/11 NO. For Murray backers, you can still get 200/1 for him to win!
