Irish 1000 Guineas Odds
The Irish 1000 Guineas odds make English 1000 guineas fifth placed filly, Nahoodh a 4/1 favourite for the Boylesports Irish 1000 guineas this Sunday. Spacious, the John Gosden trained, Newmarket runner-up to Natagora, is in at 5/1, as is the Jim Bolger trained Saoirse Abu. The race has all the hallmarks of being a genuine classic too, with several filly’s in with big chances to win. Narrowly beaten at Newmarket, Spacious is fir and well and has come on for her Newmarket run. As too has Nahoodh, who ran a very unlucky fifth at Newmarket, in a race that both Trainer, Mick Channon and Jockey, Richard Hughes thought she would have won.
Hughes remains adamant that he would have won on Nahoodh had he not been blocked in on the stands rails in the final furlong. He ran into the back of the winner, Natagora, who may have let Nahoodh in, under a different set of circumstances. She finished fifth in the end, just a length behind. Hughes is determined no such mistake will be made this time.
Jim Bolger has a very interesting filly in the race in the shape of Saoirse Abu, who beat the Newmarket 2000 Guineas winner, Henrythenavigator, in the two year old Phoenix Stakes last year. She also won the Moyglare Stakes and is reported as being in great form at home. She can be backed at 5/1 with most bookies.
