Lingfield Derby Trial Odds
The Lingfield Derby Trial odds, have Luca Cumani’s Curtain Call as favourite for Saturday’s big race. There are 15 entries in a race that has proven prosperous in the past for Cumani. He took the Lingfield Derby Trial route before with both Kahyasi in 1988 and High Rise in 1998 and both went on to win the Classic. Seems like years that end with a number 8 have been lucky for Luca. Will 2008 follow this trend?

Cumani believes that Lingfield is a similar track to Epsom and trialing a horse here acheives two things, one; is that it gives a horse an idea of what to expect and two; it allows the jockeys to know how the horse handles a downhill, left handed bend.
On his reappearance in April at Nottingham, the 2nd favourite for the derby, easily saw off his two rivals and it proved a good race to sharpen him up. This week however will see him face a bigger field with much better quality. Cumani hopes for a competitivet race, but would not want it to be too hard. Curtain Call is a straightforward horse and has an advantage of experience over most others who are entered in the Derby.
Twice Over remains favourite for the Derby and reports suggest that he is performing exceptionally well on the gallops.
