Scolari Odds Shorten for Man City Job
The Scolari Odds shorten as speculation continues that Manchester City Manager, Sven Goran Eriksson, will leave the club
Scolari, Head Coach of Portugal and former World Cup winning Coach with Brazil, is currently quoted as short as 2/1 to take over at Eastlands, a significant shortening since yesterday, when he was quoted as 4/1. He has yet to be drawn himself on the speculation, but it is known and obvious that he will be concentrating exclusively on guiding Portugal to a successful EURO 2008 campaign. However it is known that he shall be leaving this post after the Tournament. Ironically, he was once favourite to take over from 'Sven' as England Coach, but he decided against it, due to UK media intrusion.

Other notable names to emerge in the running for the job are Slaven Bilic, former Aston Villa and Everton defender, who is now the successful coach of Croatia. Bilic is quoted as 6/1, Frank Rijkaard, who is still, at least for now, the Coach at Barcelona is quoted as 8/1. Sam Allardyce and Mark Hughes are both quoted too, at 10/1 each.
Manchester City fans are clearly angry at Club Chairman, Dr Thaksin Shinawatra, but will their anger have any bearing on a man that used to be Prime Minister of Thailand. Perhaps Shinawtra believes that Sven has done his job and has moulded the team into a good Premier League side, and thinks that Scolari is the man to make them great...who knows?
