New Approach is currently at 2/1 with most bookmakers, not particularly generous, considering a favourite has only won the race once in ten years, but what do you expect with such a high class colt. He has few doubters and as the race comes closer his odds could well get shorter.

Ravens Pass is the second favourite at around 4/1, but Jupiter Pluvius, who will be representing the Ballydoyle stable, who have won this opening classic three times in the last four years, is a good price at around 10/1. He is unbeaten in two starts and is likely to spearhead the Ballydoyle challenge.

A lively outsider is the Andrew Balding trained 'Dream Eater'. Balding has said that he has progressed really well throughout the winter and although only a winner of one race from eight, he is sure to run well. 'Dream Eater's odds are currently 50/1 against, so well worth an each way punt
