The 2000 Guineas Betting for this weeks first classic of the season has a red hot favourite in the Jim Bolger trained New Approach. The 2000 Guineas odds have seen money for the favourite with sponsors of the race Stan James. Stan James cut New Approach from 9/4 to 2/1 for the 2000 Guineas following the news that Twice Over will not take his chance in the colts' Classic at Newmarket on Saturday week. Head of PR Charlie McCann: "We have been non runner no bet on the two Stan James sponsored Classics since Monday so punters who backed the horse with us during the period will have their stakes refunded on the Craven winner, but it is a blow for many antepost punters and the main opposition to Jim Bolger's unbeaten colt could be about to get on a plane in Dubai bound for Newmarket."

Ibn Khaldun the mount of Frankie will be hoping that the winter in Dubai has made him a stronger colt as his victory in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster last October was very impressive. In the racing Post he made the transition to Group 1 company very easily winning by three lengths from City Leader. In this race he travelled strongly in midfield before being produced to hit the front in the final furlong and power through the closing stages to score in emphatic fashion. There are no doubts about his stamina and he could be the real danger to the favourite on Saturday.So much will depend on how the Godolphin horses adapt to the Sping weather in England, but at around 6/1 it maybe worth the chance as first time out runners in the Guineas have a great record in recent years.
