Betting 2000 Guineas
2000 Guineas betting remains unchanged after the Greenham Stakes 2000 guineas trial on Saturday. Jim Bolger's New Approach rermains favourite for the first Colt Classic this season. The winner of last season's Dewhurst was rated as top 2 year old last season and will run without a warm up on May 3rd. He was considered by most as almost certain to win the race, but there has been plenty who have backed against him. Perhaps the race will be far more competitive than originally thought. On that basis It is highly likely that his price may drift and better odds could well be available nearer the day.

Amazingly none of the first three home in the Greenham are entered for the race. It ts possible that the winner, Paco Boy, may enter late, but this is dependent on whether or not his owners want to shell out the 3o,ooo pound fee.
Twice Over, short head victor over Raven's Pass in the Craven is certainly one of the reasons why New Approach has not gone clear favourite. Apart from Ravens Pass he won the Craven with plenty to spare and looks an excellent prospect. One doubt may be that trainer Henry Cecil, thnks that the horse needs a mile and a quarter.
Ravens Pass, will take on Twice Over again, seemingly without any fear. Trainer John Gosden has great belief in this horse, who was also behind New Approach in last season's Dewhurst. Connections are confident that the horse will improve more than Twice Over and will enjoy the faster ground that Newmarket usually offers.
Odds 11/4 New approach, 9/2 Ravens Pass, 9/2 Twice Over, 6/1 Ibn Khaldun.
