Sussex and County Championship odds
Sussex odds to retain the County Cricket championship are 9/2 but can they make it a Championship hat trick this season? Last years competition, as we will all remember, went to the final pulsating few overs of the season, with Lancashire just unable to claim victory against Surrey. Both teams will surely be there or there abouts again this year. Sussex Captain, Chris Adams, will no doubt be well pleased that key man, Mustaq Ahmed, is still available. Ahmed has been the county's leading wicket-taker in four of the last five seasons.

Durham did well last year winning the Friends Provident Trophy and were runners-up in the Championship, they are now established as a real threat to anyone in the County game.
Kent and Captain Rob Key, who eats ,breathes and sleeps cricket are raising the plaudits eyebrows and are clearly a potential threat this season, they look as good a side as Kent have produced for some years.
Lancs captained by Aussie Stewart Law have a very strong squad. So close to being champions last year, they will surely be a handful for any side and should also do well in the one day competitions
Somerset have a major catch in Captain Justin Langer. One of the mainstays of the recent all conquering Aussie test team, Langer will bring lots to Somerset this season. Add to the mix, the now dedicated Marcus Trescothick and Andrew Caddick, still performing miracles, Somerset could justifiably be regarded as potential champions this season
Most plaudits regard Surrey's chances as mediocre at best. Their chances of success rest on the shoulders of their bowling attack. Mark Ramprakash could well vie for top batsman, his form has been brilliant of late and he will offer much inspiration to them
Yorkshire would love to see a fairytale end to Captain Darren Gough's career, but while the championship may be beyond them, look out for them in the one day competitions
