Betting Odds O'Sullivan World Snooker Championship
The betting odds for O'Sullivan's Snooker World Championship bid this year list him as favourite yet again. There is no doubting his ability of course, he is certainly the most gifted player on tour. Arguably he is the most gifted snooker player of all time. But snooker followers all know that what he has in ability he often loses in temperament. Sure it is every snooker player's dream to win the 'big one'and quite a few different and unexpected players have done so in recent years. So in theory, having won it twice O'Sullivan should be applauded. However snooker plaudits will mostly agree that two victories for a man of his ability is modest at best and odds around 7/2 to 3/1 this year are not particularly generous.

Mark Selby is the player a lot of snooker fans are talking about right now. Since his epic final defeat last year against John Higgins, the Leicester player's form has been nothing short of sensational. Winning the Masters and the Welsh Open (against O'Sullivan in the final). His odds of around 11/2 are probably fair.
O'Sullivan, who is provisionally ranked number 2 in the world, will face the almost unknown Lui Chuang in the opening round. Chuang is the 6th Chinese to make the professional circuit. Ironically his idol is O'Sullivan. Although he has come through the brutal qualifying rounds to earn his place at the Crucible, a victory over his idol would be one of the biggest shocks in snooker history.
Money has also come for England's Shaun Murphy and Scotland's Stephen Maguire. Both have shown excellent form this year, this is reflected in their provisional world rankings of Number 1 and Number 3 in the world. Selby incidentally is provisionally ranked Number 4.
