Grand National Tips
Our Grand National tips for the 2008 Aintree Grand National this Saturday is a toss up between two horses. The first of the ones we like is the David Pipe trained Comply or Die as he fits a number of our criteria very well in that he is between the ages of 8 and 10 as he is nine year old the perfect age for a Grand National winner. Also, his weight is on the mark at 10 stone 9 pounds and we think it makes sense to back a horse lower down the weights in the National even though it is a compressed handicap this year. Comply or Die is a great price at 12/1 with Betfair as he has very little to make up with Cloudy Lane from two runs ago.

Comply or Die will be ridden by Timmy Murphy another major plus for the horse. In addition, he has improved so much for the use of blinkers and we think there maybe more yet to come from him. Another that we have a sneaky suspicion for is Slim Pickings trained by Tom Taaffe. We always like horse who have a track record at the track and his 3rd place in the Grand National last year shows how he enjoys jumping these fences.
Slim Pickings has had a good build up to the race and we think at odds of 13/1 on Betfair he is also worth a small interest. There is no denying the chances of the favourite Cloudy Lane but we just can not back a horse in the National at odds of 5/1.
