David Pipe Cheltenham Festival Runners

The David Pipe Cheltenham Festival runners are headed by Our Vic who is favourite for the Ryanair Chase. Our Vic has been campaigned for this race all season as the distance is just right for him. Our Vic does not see out the 3 miles at Cheltenham and so the 2 mile 5 furlongs is perfect and has a really top chance to take this race and he is second favourite behind Mossbank at 5/1. While David Pipe has other very good opportunities for success with the likes of Osana in the Champion Hurdle and Lough Derg in the World Hurdle, it is the Ryanair that we think gives him his best chance for a win this season.

There will be much made of Ashkazar for the Triumph as every year the Pipe team try to do the double of the Imperial Cup at Sandown on the Saturday and follow up with the Triumph Hurdle at the Festival. Last year they did it with Gaspara, but do not be sucked in this year as the Triumph is a very tough race this year with Franchoek looking very good at he head of the betting.

Ashkazar needs to find a bit on Franchoek who beat him by over 9 lengths in the Coral Future Champions Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow in December but Timmy Murphy was not hard on him once the race was lost, but he will need to have improved to win on Saturday and then again at the festival.
