The Mick Fitzgerald Cheltenham Festival runners will be headed by Chomba Womba and in a recent attheraces interview he has picked it as his Cheltenham Festival tip. Mick Fitzgerald is currently a 12/1 chance to be top jockey at the Festival and this reflects his lack of quality rides at the meeting. Mick rides for the Lambourn trainer Nicky Henderson but while he will have a number of good rides for his boss, there is nothing that stands out except for Chomba Womba who is favourite for the new race at the festival in the David Nicholson Mares Hurdle on the final day.

Chomba Womba has won all his races this season the last of which was over an inadequate trip of two miles in the JCT600 Mercedes-Benz Doncaster Mares Only Hurdle at Doncaster in January. Chomba is available at 7/2 for this race and she will need to keep her unbeaten record should Mick have any chance of winning the top jockey award this season. This season was predicted to be his last by like a fine wine Mick seems to get better each year.
