2008 Eurovision Song Contest Betting Odds
The 2008 Eurovision Song Contest betting odds could take on a whole new meaning if the latest market is anything to go by. Ireland who in the past have had great success in this event have in recent times finished way down the field, but all that could change if the betting market for the Irish contender for the 2008 contest is anything to go by. How about two birds representing their country, of course these are puppets and this is just what the Eurovision has descended into. One thing is for sure they will spice up the event and be a great taking point and you just never know they just might even win it at odds of 33/1, but that may not be such a good thing as they would then become totally unbearable.

Dustin the turkey has emerged as Paddy Power's number one choice to represent Ireland at the Eurovision this year. The bookies have made the foul-mouthed bird their 4/6 odds on favourite after the six acts vying to represent Ireland at this year's Eurovision were revealed by RTE on Sunday. The other five hopefuls include former boy-band star Donal Skehan at 4/1, 2nd time Eurovision hopeful Marc Roberts at 6/1, seventeen year old Liam Geddes at 8/1, Dublin songstress Leona Daly at 10/1, and Slovenian singer Maya Slatinsek at 16/1.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: "Dustin is the perfect act to send to Eurovision. He has already sung with great musicians like Chris De Burgh, Joe Dolan and Bob Geldof and we hear he's got a great pair of legs. A good looking bird always goes down well with the voters!"
