The Next Newcastle Manager betting odds are now showing that Alan Pardew is the new leader in the market to take charge at St James Park and reports in the media suggest he is a near certainty to get the job. Chris Hughton was sacked on Monday and the early market movers were the unemployed pair of Martin O'Neill and Pardew. The market has calmed down since and it is Pardew who has emerged as favourite, and he could be a popular choice with the board because of his previous Premiership experience. Although his recent record isn't great - sacked as manager of West Ham, relegated with Charlton and sacked most recently and perhaps harshly by League One Southampton.
Meanwhile the fact that Martin Jol had resigned as manager of Ajax on Monday indicated he could be on his way back to England, but his odds have since drifted. The ownership saga has been dragging on and on and with no sale in sight this will be major issue in attracting the right candidate. There is little doubt that this is going to be a very volatile betting market as once again this decision seems to have come out of the blue as there is no one waiting in the wings to take over from Chris.
The fans seem to think that Chris has been give a raw deal having brought Newcastle straight back into the Premier League after only one season. Chris took over from Alan Shearer who is once again being touted for the job and we will just have to wait and see if he is prepared to have another go at the job for his home club.
The next few days will be hectic on the betting front and we will attempt to keep you in the picture for all the moves in the betting. Peter Beardsley will look after 1st team affairs in the coming days.
