Joe Calzaghe odds on beating Mikkel Kessler are 8/13 and the crowd at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium will be hoping that the Welshman can justify his odds-on favourite tag to add another chapter to his illustrious career. With the fight being shown live on Setanta TV and the media interest set to be huge, it is expected that this is going to be one of the biggest ever boxing betting events ever, with only the eagerly anticipated Hatton v Mayweather fight in Las Vegas on 8th December set to beat it.

It is worth considering that if Joe Calzaghe does beat Kessler his odds on becoming Sports Personality of the year will be drastically reduced from the 25/1 currently available at Ladbrokes and a small interest on him winning the BBC award does represent good value.
