Betfred Sprint Cup Betting
The Betfred Sprint Cup betting for this Saturday's Group One over 6 furongs at Haydock Park sees Utmost Respect head the odds at 4/1 with most major bookmakers. The Richard Fahey trained runner comes into the race in great form having finished fouth behinf Marchand D'or in France last time out and an impressive victory in the Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle in June. The likely soft ground will pose no problem and a big run can be expected.
French Raider, African Rose, is the second favourite at odds of generally available 5/1 with Victor Chandler offering best odds of 6/1. the Mme C Head-Maarek trained filly finished over three lengths in front of Utmost Respect last time out in the Prix Maurice de Gheest, and despite this being over the shorter distance of 6 furlongs, this three year old could well confirm placings with the favourite.
Last year's winning trainer, Barry Hills, has Equiano running in the race and will surely fancy his chances of being in the winners enclosure for the second year running. The three year old colt has rarely finished out of the frame in his short career and with form on soft to heavy going, looks likely to make a bold bid.
Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien has four runners entered in the race, with US Ranger the pick of the bunch. The Ballydoyle supremo has already cleaned up in Group one events in the UK this season and another would be no surprise, however, he is not known for his top class sprinters so he may have to rely on Duke of Marmalade in the Irish Champion Stakes at the Curragh for Saturday's Group success.
