Denis O'Regan who rode Ansar to Galway Plate glory two years ago, will be reunited with Dermot Weld's course specialist in Wednesday's renewal of the big William Hill-sponsored handicap chase.

Weld said: “Ruby has decided against riding Ansar and we're glad that Denis was on standby and that he has agreed to ride the horse. He got on very well with Ansar when he won on him two years ago.

"The big questions about Ansar this year are that he has 11st 10lb and the ground. We would need conditions to dry out a good bit for him. He's also 11 but he doesn't seem to feel his age."
