The one race not to miss at the 2008 Royal Ascot meeting is the Group One St James's Palace Stakes on Tuesday, where dual Guineas winner, Henrythenavigator, will come under starters orders as he attempts to confirm just how much of an exciting prospect he is. The Aidan O'Brien Colt was mightely impressive in victory in both the Irish and English 2000 Guineas last month and that form could not have been better franked when runner up on both occasions, New Approach, went on to win the Derby last weekend. Henrythenavigator looks the banker of the meeting when he lines up for the 1 mile race at 3:45 on Tuesday and even at odds on, he looks a good bet.
It could well turn out to be an excellent week for trainer Aidan O'Brien who also trains the favourite in Wednesday's Prince of Wales Stakes in the form of Duke of Marmalade, who has left his three year old form well behind with two impressive wins so far this seson. O'Brien also trians Yeats, the favourite of the Ascot Gold Cup and both horse and trainer will be looking to land a hat trick in the race following victories at Royal Ascot in 2006 and 2007.
