The biggest Music Award ceremony globally, is The Grammys which in 2012 sees its 53rd outing. Presented annually by The National Academy Of Recording Arts And Sciences Of The United States originally the Gramaphone Awards, equate in importance in the music industry to The Oscars in the world of cinema somthing that has not gone unnoticed by the UK Bookmakers who put up a wide variety of special Novelty Bets for these events.
Hotly contested for the potential revenue that success can bring to those in front of and behind the microphone, the headline categories are Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist, like the hundred metres in the Olympics these are the Blue Ribbon prizes. There are however a whole host of genres and categories from performances in Latin Jazz to classical and Hip Hop which are similarily contested as well as prizes for music videos and specials for longevity in the industry.
With such a plethora of gambles available with the numerous categories the punter should be a keen researcher of the American Music Press to maximize betting opportunities.
The home grown answer to the Grammys is The Brit Awards, the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards, started in 1977 with a rather shambolic history regarding disastrous presenters and production quality. Whilst very much the poor relation of the Grammy’s and attracting fewer A listers, the advantage to the punter is knowledge of the market and personalities which seem to have as much influence in the domestic arena as musical prowess.
The Classical Brit Awards are a recent innovation which take place independently later in the year than the pop awards and have received rather more prestige, attracting worldwide classical talent.
There is fun to be had having a flutter on Music Awards and also for that matter on

At the beginning of each year the film industry celebrates the films of the previous year with a series of Awards Shows. The circus kicks off with the Golden Globes, the winners of which are more often than not seen as a clear pointer for those who will win at The Oscars.
The home-grown Baftas work on a more independent basis than either The Golden Globes or The Oscars, often rewarding excellence in storytelling and creative risk taking, often throwing up winners that would not be successful in either of the other two ceremonies. The Oscars are of course the most publicized and recognized of the Film Awards and a massive camp following of marketing machines precede it.
Gambling opportunities in the film world are varied and vast, following the earlier ceremonies and the successful players will be key to a successful punt.
