It seems Alex Reid looks to be on the verge of suceeding where countless others have failed on Reality TV Shows. For years it has not been uncommon for so called Celebrities to go on shows like, I'm A Celebrity, Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Big Brother to revive a flagging career or as a result of the Tabloid Press, feel an outing on British Television will favourably readjust their profile with the British Public. There have been numerous examples of this, from Abi Titmuss to George Galloway, in fact even Ekaterina Ivanova in the current series of Celebrity Big Brother hoped to show that there was more to her than her liason with Ronnie Wood. In fact she merely displayed that it was no surprise to the public that Wood's mid life crisis was only fleeting with such a shallow vessel.
Ironically Alex has also succeeded where even his partner Katie Price failed in her last sojourn to restore her public image after divorcing Peter Andre by going into the jungle. Not known for her humility or tolerance it has been made clear in Press coverage throughout this Celebrity Big Brother that Katie neither wanted 'her man' to go on the show and certainly gave strict instructions that Alex should not talk about her at all. The producers made this even more difficult for him by including Dane Bowers in the BB entourage, also an ex of Ms Price, so there were naturally going to be some discussions about her. It is not without some further irony that Dane is Alex's closest competition at the moment.

Interestingly, the scarily tangoed, buff, Alex has managed to knock National Treasure Vinnie Jones off the favourite pedestal, simply by appearing to be good fun, sincere, warm and more vulnerable than seems right for a cage fighter. Vinnie as Alpha male in the group has shown that the honour and respect that accompanies that role can soon change to distrust as resposibility weighing heavily on the Silver Back's shoulders has seen his humour and tolerance abandon him. Vinnie has simply appeared too arrogant in the last few days and no one likes a Smart Arse.
Stephanie who we tipped to do well on the show, has won the Best Female prize already, helped enormously by her uncontrollable giggling fit in the Diary Room when Ivana carried out her Awards Task. Great to watch from the Queen of decorum and rightfully rewarded by a place in the final.
As the programme says, 'Who Wins? You Decide!'. Peter Andre has felt the support of the British Public for his apparent decency when Katie was out partying when they split and it seems that Alex too is being supported for his genuine nature and will have done his profile no harm at all.
Well boys, it seems you should cut out the middlewoman and get on with your own careers without Ms Price. Do I feel a duet coming on? Katie? Proud of her man or raging? You decide!
