Fantastic news for all you novelty punters out there . . . Paddy Power has released the outright winner odds for Dancing On Ice, the Reality TV betting world is back on track for the New Year . . . . Game On!
As usual there are a strange array of quasi celebrities to court our appreciation, ranging from the athletic, the career challenged and those familiar with the Reality TV process who clearly need the cash. X Factor winner Shane Ward, who vanished from view after his musical triumph has re emerged with skates and Joe Pasquale who had such a boost after winning I'm A Celebrity has clearly relying on his sense of humour to get him through the arduous procedure. Paddy Power do not fancy his chances of winning this show at odds of 25/1.
Lauren Goodger, on and off girlfriend of TOWIE character Mark Wright obviously hopes that his success on I'm A Celebrity will come to her and at 12/1 the bookies clearly feel that her fanbase and youth could propel her quite a way down the track. If it is to be believed that Pamela Anderson is to take part there may be a few glamour cat fights between these two but Ms Anderson must be hoping that she will capture the hearts and minds of the British public in the manner of her Baywatch co star David Hasselhof.
Three time Olympic medallist Beth Tweddle starts as clear favourite at 9/4 and rightly so. Her athleticism will serve her well in the same way as Louis Smith harnessed his for Strictly Come Dancing and in many ways seems to have a very unfair advantage. As a master of the uneven bars her balance cannot be questioned or indeed her courage however, like Louis, she will have to loosen up and learn how to interpret the music and the moves to avoid seeming wooden. It must be there for the taking for Beth, and whilst the success of London 2012 must be the reason for the producers using her, it may well backfire on them by making it too much of a one horse race.
