There's less than a week to go before Channel 5's second sojourn into the world of Celebrity Big Brother comes to its inevitable conclusion. As always there is a massive risk for those celebrities taking part, even if they are 'Z' listers, that their time in the Elstree house will signpost years in the wilderness, although for a rare few it will launch a career they never thought possible. Presenter Brian Dowling is of course a case in point. As an anonymous Irish man joining the original Big Brother cast as a contestant, he now fronts the show that made his name. For those celebrities left in this Spring's programme, there are only a couple who will have benefited from a better public profile and it is no surprise therefore that their names appear at the bottom of Paddy Power's next elimination Odds table.
The least likely to leave next according to the Irish bookmakers is Gareth Thomas at 33/1 to go next, and is inevitably being flagged up to win the series. The Welsh rugby international has not only proved to be admirable in his decision to come out about his sexuality in the traditionally bigoted and testosterone driven world of rugby, but he also has an enviable physique and has proven to be great fun, a real team player and generous of spirit. After his time in the BB house he is sure to have a bundle of offers coming his way. Expect to see more of Gareth Thomas's face in the coming months on everything from fitness shows, to chat shows, whether as host or guest.
The other surprise beneficiary from his time in Elstree is X Factor reject Frankie Cocozza, who is second least likely to be ejected by the nation at odds of 16/1. Cocozza started well in the X Factor auditions and was tipped to go all the way at the outset, but the temptations of fame, the partying, drink and drugs led him to being ousted from the programme from disapproving management i.e. Simon Cowell. Many guffaws were heard as his name was announced as a contestant, with many questions being asked about what now constituted a'celebrity', but in fact his lack of knowledge of this world has in fact worked in his favour. Cocozza is aware that he is not a star, has seemed unfazed by the company is keeping and in fact has at times seemed like the voice of common sense, especially when it comes to the egocentric behaviour of Playboy twins Karissa and Kristina.
Big Brother is usually fairly easily to predict but this year viewers have thrown a couple of spanners in the eager punter's works with their voting patterns. Ex Eastender Natalie Cassidy was riding high in the winning betting for three weeks, maintaining a calm,a grounded and team playing exterior which looked set to take her through to the endgame, but she was eliminated on Friday night ahead of Nicola McLean, Denise Welch and those blonde twins. Nicola once again heads the odds table for elimination at odds of 5/6 but it is surprising to see she is ahead of the Shannon's who's behaviour has been unpleasantly arrogant and manipulative. Whilst Denise Welch and Nicola are ahead of the twins in the betting it seems very unlikely that the audience will save them. They are not Jedward after all !

Nicola McClean 5/6
Denise Welch 4/1
Karissa & Kristina Shannon 5/1
