X Factor 2011 Odds: Bet On The Winning Judge For The New Season

Well the world of reality TV competitions is in a bit of a lull at the moment with only Popstar To Operastar taking the stage, but as with most lulls they generally herald a storm and as the summer schedules start to unravel there will as always be a tempest of reality TV, to tempt the viewers back to the sofas and the punters to part with their cash. Believe it or not the X Factor auditions will soon be under way and whilst betting on the contestants is impossible, bookmakers Paddy Power are offering a market on the winning judge and it could be well worth a look.

With Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Danni Minogue no longer on the line up the only tried and tested judge is Louis Walsh, whose reputation for picking wildcards like Jedward is well known, although converting these to X Factor triumph has been less successful. Gary Barlow is cited by Paddy Power as the favourite to win at very short odds of 9/4 although he is accompanied at this price by X Factor veteran Louis Walsh.

Presumably the bookies are banking on Gary bringing the same flair and expertise to his team as he has brought to the re launch of Take That and suspect that he will be well regarded by contestants and listened to for his obvious insider knowledge of the music industry, His price is not based on a track record on the show, which is probably the main reason for Louis to be accompanying him as favourite.

Newcomers Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Constavlos obviously bring personal experience to the table but how they will interact with the viewers and the format is an unknown commodity so they are both priced at 11/4. Unfortunately none of the judges can rely on the product they are asked to nurture being of a high quality, neither do they know during the audition process which group they will be heading. All these variables will have an enormous impact on the outcome, but to ensure the programme survives the exit of Simon and Cheryl the producers are bound to be enthusiastic to make a winning combination. Barlow will bring his own fans to the show and a helping hand by the production team to give him the group with the best chance is sure to help keep the ratings in place.
