As the National Hunt season reaches its climax at The Cheltenham Festival this week, horse racing punters will be the clear focus of all the leading bookmakers. They are clearly not sure which effect the credit crunch will have on proceedings this year. There is also a St. Patrick's Day Special centring the gamble on how much Guiness will be consumed on the Saint's Day. The Irish are notorious for enjoying the craic and it seems unlikely that this particular occasion will be enjoyed with less fervour than usual. if Ruby Walsh is clocking up the wins pockets will be jangling and the drink will surely be flowing.
Let there be no mistake Guiness will be pulling out all the stops to increase last year's sales figures on their flagship brew.
