Premier League Snooker Betting

Premier League snooker is one of the biggest snooker events for betting as it is a three month long tournament and it involves a very different format to tournaments such as the UK Championship and the World Championship.

The Premier League involves a round robin format in the early stages and the players are ranked in a league according to their results in these stages. The top four players in the league then go on to the semi-finals, with the winners meeting in the final.

It usually takes place each year from mid-August until mid-November and it involves a quicker matchplay format than the players are used to. Players get 20 seconds to play each shot and the round robin matches are best of four frames, with the semi-finals involving a best of nine and the final is best of 13 frames. The quicker format makes it an exciting betting heat, particularly for punters getting involved in live in-running betting.

When looking at the ante-post odds, it is tough to look beyond Ronnie O'Sullivan, as the 'Rocket' has won the Premier League ten times and won successive titles from 2005 to 2008. Stephen Hendry has won the title six times, while the likes of Mark Williams, Shaun Murphy, and Ding Junhui are all likely to be well fancied in the betting.

Ronnie O'Sullivan won the Premier League for a tenth time as he humbled Ding Junhui in the final. O'Sullivan had struggled for form in the league phase but produced his very best in the finals, beat his Chinese rival 7-1 in the final.
