As expected the All Blacks completed the first ever Grand Slam whitewash in Tri Nations history by defeating the Wallabies in a highly exciting game in Sydney, by 23-22. For much of the match it looked the hosts were going to hold out for a memorable win, but the All Blacks put in a huge effort to grab the winning points near the end. In doing so they broke several records as well as the Australian hearts.
The northern hemisphere’s equivalent of the Tri-Nations is the annual Six Nations tournament which takes place between February and March each year. The tournament involves England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, France and Italy.
