The All Blacks will be looking to make it eight straight wins over the Wallabies in this Tri Nations 4th round match in Melbourne on Saturday. Despite being the away team the Bookmakers make them red hot favourites with Ladbrokes offering them at 4/11 odds on and Australia at 2/1.
It has to be said that New Zealand have looked mightily impressive in their two matches played so far against South Africa. They won both of those matches by large margins, scoring four tries in each, thus earning two valuable bonus points. Australia however, have also got very good reason to be happy with themselves, after they too recorded a convincing victory over the ’Boks’ last week in Brisbane. They played with a great deal of flair and purpose, but more importantly they played for the full 80 minutes, something which they have been guilty of not doing in recent matches.
Australia v New Zealand Tri Nations Odds Comparison
Unfortunately for the Wallabies they will be without the influential Quade Cooper at fly half, who is suspended and will now start with Matt Giteau in the number 10 shirt. Berrick Barnes replaces Giteau at Inside centre. On the plus side however, prop Stephen Moore will be starting the match and will undoubtedly be a major factor in the scrums. His presence should give the home side an advantage and should go a long way in depriving the All Blacks their usual dominance in possession.

It is fair to assume that New Zealand should win the match, but we do not think it will be by the landslide some plaudits have suggested. The Wallabies have a real innovative set of backs, who move the ball around superbly. They are also outstanding on the counter which means the All Blacks cannot afford to make errors in the wrong part of the pitch. We think New Zealand will win, but would only back them to do so by between 6-10 points a bet that carries odds of 9/2 with Ladbrokes.com.
Joe Rokocoko, the All Blacks winger will be making his 64th test appearance taking him past the record held by the legendary pair of John Kirwan and Jonah Lomu. It would be fitting therefore to back the flying winger to score the first try of the match for which he has odds of 11/1 via Ladbrokes Bookmakers.
