Wales host Six Nations favourites France under the floodlights at the Millennium Stadium this Friday evening in what promises to be a make or break game for the home side.
While Les Bleus will be looking to continue their winning ways, Wales will be hoping that they can produce some consistency to their game which at best, has been up and down so far. Defeat by England at Twickenham, deserved or not, got them off on the wrong foot and their win over Scotland a fortnight ago, as exciting as it was, can only be described as fortuitous. It is no surprise therefore to see the Welsh as outsiders to win this game, despite it being on home soil. Wales are quoted at 2/1 to win, while the French are big 2/5 odds on favourites to claim their third Six Nations scalp this season. These odds are available from Bet365.
It is also no surprise that Welsh Coach, Warren Gatland has expressed his concerns about the form of his crucial back row, who were taken to the cleaners by Scotland. That said, Gatland has kept the faith with skipper, Ryan Jones at number 8 and the experienced Martin Williams at open side, but has moved Jonathan Thomas to blind side flanker from lock to replace the now sacked, Andy Powell.

The other major change that Gatland has made has been at scrum half, where Dwayne Peel has been left out with Richie Rees getting the call and the now fit again, British Lions scrum half, Mike Phillips getting the spot on the bench.

France have been quite superb so far this season, they have dominated both games played so far out-muscling Scotland at Murrayfield and taking Ireland apart by 33-10 a fortnight ago at Stade Francais. No-one could have expected a 23 point winning margin for France against the reigning Grand Slam champions, but Bet365 are offering 11/1 against them winning by 21-25 points in this match.
The truth is that France so far have looked like a team without weakness. They boast a world class pack, five world class backs and now have a half back partnership of Francois Trinh-Duc and Morgan Parra, who look to be as good as any half back partnership that exists anywhere, with both players posing an ever present danger.
