Munster v London Irish Betting: Magners League side odds on to win final Pool Three match

Two time champions Munster will be hurting after failing to qualify for the Heineken Cup knock-out stages for the first time in 12 years and London Irish could feel their wrath when the two sides meet at Thomond Park on Saturday. Munster are hot favourites in the betting for the final Pool match with Paddy Power as they are 1/5 on, with London Irish available at 10/3, and the unlikely draw can be backed at 22/1.

The Irish side's failure to qualify for the quarter-finals was confirmed by their 32-16 defeat to Pool Three winners Toulon last weekend. They occupy second place with no chance of reaching the Heineken Cup last eight and will be hurt by the knowledge that the last time that happened was when they finished bottom of their pool back in the 1997/98 season. Munster will ring the changes for the match on Saturday as a result, with Johne Murphy, Denis Hurley, James Coughlan, Mick O'Driscoll, Lifeimi Mafi and Tomas O'Leary all coming in for the final group game.

Number 9 O'Leary will have a point to prove after being left out last week and the winger could be backed to score the first try this weekend. Last weekend's 24-12 win over Ospreys was their first win in 11, although they did beat Munster when the two sides last met in October at the Madejski.
