The opening fixtures for the 2010/11 Magners League get underway tonight with two cracking games between Glasgow v Leinster and Ulster v Ospreys. The games which are previewed below are both being televised as follows:
In the first game, between Glasgow and Leinster Ladbrokes cannot separate the two teams in betting terms and quote them both at 10/11 to win. In the second game it is Ulster who just about gets the favourites burden with odds of 4/5 with defending Magners League champions, Ospreys at even money. The draw in both matches is an 18/1 chance.

Ulster entertain defending champions Osprey at Ravenshill knowing that they are more than capable of getting the season off to a good start by winning this match. They have had to endure a difficult pre-season not knowing what players would be available by the start. In the event they will be starting the match with Rory Best as hooker and captain with his fellow international team mate, Stephen Ferris fit to resume his position in the back row. Further experience will be added by Springbok forwards, Muller and Wannenberg, but coach, Brian McLaughlin admits that he will be lacking somewhat in this area and he will need to field five debutants.

Kiwi back row, Jerry Collins will captain the Ospreys in their first match in their title defence but the Welsh team are far from full strength and will be missing Magners Player of the Year, Tommy Bowe amongst others.
