More women than ever are playing poker

Britain is rapidly becoming the center of european gambling and estimates suggest that around 80% of online players in Europe are British.

One interest development has been the increase of women particpating in online betting. As much as one third of online gamblers could in fact be women.

Poker Pulse, which monitors the poker industry, estimates that the website ParadisePoker was making between £4 million and £5.5 million a month when it was bought late last year by Sportingbet.com.

The figures at ParadisePoker are certainly impressive but are a fraction of the numbers of players at PartyPoker. Is it claimed the online poker betting company PartyPoker made nearly £200 last year.

It is estimated that there are is around 400 poker sites curently offering online poker betting. Televised Poker Tournaments have helped their growth and there seems to be no reason for the growth to slow down.
