The Turkish Grand Prix staged its inaugural event in 2005 at the Istanbul Racing Circuit and is part of the ongoing development of the country and rebuilding of the economy, so far it has been a success as it remains in the calendar for the 2011 season.
It has proved popular with local fans and was won in 2009 by Jenson Button as he marched towards the World Championship and he will be hopeful of repeating the feat this year.

World Champion Sebastian Vettel made it three wins from four at the start of 2011 as he dominated in Turkey. There was further joy for his Red Bull team as Mark Webber overtook Fernando Alonso with just five laps left to take the runner up spot, leaving Alonso to settle for third, with Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button fourth and fifth respectively..

The Canadian Grand Prix was missing from the calendar in 2009 due to to a contract issue, but it will be the only race in North America from 2010 and most fans are delighted that it is back.
