Lewis Hamilton continued McLaren's recent dominance of the race as he secured a third win in four years for his team and also claimed his second title in Shanghai. McLaren got their strategy spot on as Hamilton made one more stop than Sebastian Vettel and it worked perfectly as he edged out the German, with Mark Webber performing impressively to finish third after qualifying in eighteenth. Jenson Button was fourth after an embarrassing incident where he went to stop with the wrong crew in the pit lane.
