Bahrain F1 Grand Prix Odds After Vettel Claims Pole For Red Bull

Sebastian Vettel will start on Pole Position in this opening F1 Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain. He proved that his Red Bull has tremendous speed and that he is potentially the best driver on the circuit this season. Alongside him will be Felipe Massa of Ferrari, who surprisingly finished ahead of team mate, Fernando Alonso, who had to be content with third. 2009 champion, Lewis Hamilton finished in fourth position after a hard working last lap, took him past Nico Rosberg and Mark Webber. As a result it is Vettel who has been made favourite to win the race with odds of 15/8 with Paddypower

Punters should remember that no-one has ever won the Bahrain Grand Prix unless they have started on the first two rows of the grid, meaning that it will be difficult for former world champion, Michael Schumacher and current world champion, Jenson Button to win after they qualified in 7th and 8th place respectively. The top four are Vettel, Massa, Alonso and Hamilton.

Latest Bahrain Grand Prix Odds

Interestingly the rule changes that have come into force this year will mean that all the top ten drivers will start on soft tyres, which have to be the same tyres as they qualified with. We think that this rule will put them at a disadvantage as they will all have to make early tyre stops. Should this happen then it could leave the way open for Rubens Barrichello to capitalise as he is qualified in 11th place on the heavier tyre and will not have to make any early change if he has to make a change at all. With odds of 66/1 with Paddy Power, we think that Barrichello may well be worth an each way punt.

.It was always anticipated that the top four teams of, Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes would be the teams to beat and that proved correct with both drivers from those four teams all qualifying in the top ten of the grid. However it was Ferrari who held more sway with their drivers qualifying 2nd and 3rd respectively a performance which has made them11/8 favourites to win the 2010 Constructors Championship.
