Yorkshire Cup Betting

The Yorkshire Cup is an exciting part of the famous Dante Meeting at York racecourse and often provides plenty of interest in the flat race betting. It is run on the final day of the Festival in May and the whole event provides excitement and betting opportunities galore.

The race itself is for thoroughbreds aged four years old and over, and it involves a race distance of 1 mile and six furlongs so it is well worth looking for those flat racers that have the ability to stay as well as having outright pace.

Lester Piggott was the most successful jockey in the race history so it is difficult to spot any trends there, but it is worth noting when considering a bet on the race that Saeed Bin Suroor has trained six winners in recent years.

Red Cadeaux won the 2012 renewal by a length from Glen's Diamond and in the process was clipped in for the Ascot Gold Cup.

Dante Stakes

The Yorkshire Cup is part of the Dante Meeting at York racecourse and the Dante Stakes is without doubt the feature race of the festival. The Dante Stakes is an important trial for the Epsom Derby and several horses have gone on to win both the Dante and the Derby in the same season.
