York Stakes Betting

The York Stages is an exciting betting opportunity for flat horse racing punters in July as it involves some very fine thoroughbred horses. The 1 mile, 2 furlong race is a Group Two event and it takes place each year during July.

There is a feast of horse racing for punters to check out the odds of and have an ante-post bet, not least the Glorious Goodwood Festival over the same weekend as the York Stakes.

The York race was only established in 2006 as it replaced the Scottish Open and it now serves as a trial for the prestigious International Stakes over the same course and distance at the Ebor Festival in August.

Saeed Bin Suroor's stables have enjoyed some success since the race's inauguration and entries from his stables are well worth keeping an eye out for when betting.

Twice Over returned to form for Sir Henry Cecil as the 5/2 shot landed the Group Two race, as he beat 12/1 Ransom Note, while 2/1 favourite Dominant could only take third.

International Stakes

The International Stakes is a prestigious Group One race that takes place each year at the Ebor Festival in August. It takes place at York racecourse and involves some of the best middle distance runners around.
