Ladbrokes World Series Hurdle Betting

The Ladbrokes World Series Hurdle is the Irish equivalent of the World Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival, and it takes place each year during late April or early May at the Punchestown Festival in Ireland.

The race is a Grade 1 hurdle for horses aged 4-years-old and over, and it involves a race distance of 3 miles and 14 hurdles to be negotiated along the way.

It is a great chance to get involved in horse racing betting as many of the runners in the World Series Hurdle will have been seen the month before at Cheltenham Festival and will be hoping to repeat success at Punchestown.

Anzum won both races in the same season in 1999, which is worth noting when considering a betting double in the ante-post odds. While Quevega won the 2010, 2011 and 2012 World Series Hurdles and went on to enjoy resounding successes for Willie Mullins in the Cheltenham David Nicholson Mares Hurdle.

Ryanair Novice Chase

The Ryanair Novice Chase is another of the Grade 1 feature races at the five day Punchestown Festival and it often sees contenders from the Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham in attendance.

Several winners of the Ryanair have gone on to enjoy future success at Cheltenham Festival, not least 2008 winner Big Zeb who went on to win the 2010 Queen Mother Champion Chase.
