Vintage Stakes Betting

The Glorious Goodwood meeting in July is one of the most exciting and highly watched meetings of the horse racing season as some of the finest horses in flat racing compete. With five days of racing, there is always plenty of betting markets and odds to keep the most avid punter interested.

On the second day of the meeting, the Vintage Stakes usually takes place and it attracts some of the best juveniles around. This Group Two race is open to thoroughbred 2 year olds and involves a distance of 7 furlongs.

Such is the quality on show in this race that several have gone on to win of the following season's Classics. Troy, Dr Devious and Sir Percy all went on to win the Epsom Derby and there is sure to be some tempting odds on a horse repeating the feat, while it is well worth looking out for those impressive performers from the Vintage Stakes when considering your betting later on in the season.

Chandlery continued the recent trend of ante-post favourites winning the Vintage Stakes as the 5/2 favourite made it six wins from the last nine for market leaders in the race. It marked a one-two for Richard Hannon in the race as Rockinante finished runner up, with Red Duke taking third for John Quinn.
