Totesport Trophy Odds

The Totesport Trophy is a Grade 3 handicap raced over two miles with eight hurdles to be jumped. It is open to horses four years old and above and is often seen as a trial or a warm up for the annual Cheltenham Festival which takes place a month later. The race is run at Newbury and takes place this year on February 13th.

Trainer Gary Moore has saddled the winner of this race for the last two seasons and he has several entries for this year's renewal, including one of the leading fancies Harry Tricker. Also with several entries is the in-form trainer Nicky Henderson, who has won this race on three occasions already this century. Henderson saddles the two antepost favourites for the race in Stravinsky Dance and Spirit River.

It is fair to say that past winners of the race have not really covered themselves in glory in later races, however one past winner was the great Persian War who went on to win the Champion Hurdle three times.
