Tied Cottage Chase Betting

The Tied Cottage Chase takes place towards the end of January/beginning of February each year at Punchestown racecourse. It is a prime opportunity for horse racing betting as punters begin to look towards the Cheltenham Festival in March.

The race itself is a 2 mile National Hunt Grade 2 race in Ireland that was first run in 1999 and is named after the famous 1970s National Hunt horse Tied Cottage.

Moscow Flyer won the Tied Cottage Chase in 2003 and 2005, and went on to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham in March both years. While Big Zeb won it in 2010 before going on to Champion Chase glory. So the race at Punchestown has proven to be a decent breeding ground for success at Cheltenham in its short history and it is well worth bearing that in mind when looking at the odds. Also when considering your ante-post betting it is worth noting that jockey Barry Geraghty has enjoyed great success in the race, and trainers Jessica Harrington and Arthur Moore have decent records here.
