Superlative Stakes Betting

The Superlative Stakes is part of the exciting three day betting opportunity that is the July Festival at Newmarket.

The race is open to 2-year-old thoroughbreds and involves a distance of seven furlongs. It is a Group Two event and it involves some of the best juveniles that flat racing has to offer, with several of the contenders' odds worth keeping an eye out for in the future as they look to make an impression.

One such case of a Superlative winner going on to enjoy success was Horatio Nelson, who won four of seven starts, including the 2005 Superlative. That was a rare win in this race for trainer Aidan O'Brien, as Sir Henry Cecil has tended to dominate the race over the years, and entries from his stables are well worth looking out for in the ante-post betting.

The race is part of the final day of the Newmarket meeting, and the feature of the day and the meeting is the July Cup, which will no doubt once again be a popular betting event.
