Navan Novice Hurdle Betting

The Navan Novice Hurdle is held during December each year at Navan Racecourse in Ireland. It is a Grade 1 National Hunt hurdle race for novice hurdlers aged four years old and over.

It is run over a distance of 2 miles and 4 furlongs and previous winners include Trafford Lad, Aran Concerto, Solerina and Mikael D'Haguenet. It was originally run as a conditional race in 1998 and became a Grade 1 race in 2005. It's relatively new status as a Grade 1 race means that it has taken on greater importance in betting circles and should become more and more popular with punters and bookmakers alike as it adds to its reputation.

The race now boasts a prize fund of £75,000.

Champion Hurdle 2011

The pinnacle race for hurdles is without doubt the Champion Hurdle. It takes place each year on the first day of the famous Cheltenham Festival. It brings to an end the season's 'Race To Cheltenham' and is run over two miles.

Binocular won it in 2010 and Nicky Henderson's 2008 International Hurdle winner is sure to be well up there in the betting again for 2011. There will no doubt be several other high class hurdlers, such as Peddlers Cross, Khyber Kim and Menorah, in the field during 2011.

It should make for some great betting as the best hurdlers go head-to-head in March.....
