Memorial Champion Novice Hurdle Betting

The Memorial Champion Novice Hurdle is an exciting betting opportunity on the fourth day of the Punchestown Festival, which usually takes place during late April or early May in the national hunt horse racing calendar.

The fourth day of the Festival at Punchestown racecourse also features the Punchestown Champion Hurdle.

The Memorial Champion Novice Hurdle is a Grade 1 race for horses aged 4-years-old and over, and it involves a distance of 2 miles 4 furlongs with 12 hurdles to be jumped along the way.

The race is normally a popular betting spectacle with several runners from Cheltenham Festival's Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle battling it out once again. In fact, Mikael d'Haguenet won both races in the same season in 2009 for Willie Mullins.

It is worth noting when considering the ante-post odds that Mullins leads the way for trainers with five wins in the race and it could prove beneficial to take a look at the leading contenders from his stables in the betting. Meanwhile, Ruby Walsh has picked up six wins in the race, five riding for Mullins, and the champion jockey could well be worth following.
