Some of the top juvenile fillies from the world of flat racing compete in the Lowther Stakes, which takes place in August at the world famous betting spectacle of the Ebor Festival.

The race takes place on the second day of the four-day meeting and it takes place on the same day as the Group One Yorkshire Oaks.

The Lowther Stakes is a six furlong sprint for 2-year-old thoroughbred fillies and it always attracts plenty of betting interest thanks to its Group Two status. The unbeaten Best Terms maintained her excellent record as she made it four from four with a stunning run at York. The juvenile filly made all to beat the well fancied Fire Lily and show why she had been considered for a race against her elders in the Nunthorpe Stakes.

Yorkshire Oaks Betting

The Yorkshire Oaks is a Group One middle distance race for fillies and mares aged three and over, and it has proven to be a popular part of the Ebor Festival betting spectacle. It is a Group One race and it is rarely short of quality or excitement during the 1 mile, 4 furlong trip.

It takes place on the second day of the Festival and there have been quality some winners in the past, including Midday in 2010, while Sir Michael Stoute leads the way for most wins in the race by a trainer.
