Some of the top juvenile fillies from the world of flat racing compete in the Lowther Stakes, which takes place in August at the world famous betting spectacle of the Ebor Festival.
The race takes place on the second day of the four-day meeting and it takes place on the same day as the Group One Yorkshire Oaks.
Other Ebor Festival races include:
Ebor Handicap | Great Voltigeur Stakes | Nunthorpe Stakes | Gimcrack Stakes
The Lowther Stakes is a six furlong sprint for 2-year-old thoroughbred fillies and it always attracts plenty of betting interest thanks to its Group Two status. Punters could even be tempted to consider a betting 'double' as the leading contenders from the Lowther often go on to compete in the Cheveley Park Stakes.
When considering the odds and ante-post betting it is often worth looking out for a particular trainer's entries and it is worth noting that current trainers Sir Michael Stoute, Mick Channon and Richard Hannon lead the way in terms of Lowther victories with four wins apiece.
