British Champions Long Distance Cup Betting

The Long Distance Cup forms part of the prestigious British Champions Day, which was formed in 2011 to provide a climax to the British flat racing season. It certainly provides plenty of excitement as it is also the climax to the QIPCO British Champions Series.

The Long Distance Cup opens up the day's proceedings and should attract plenty of betting interest as punters look to get their final bets in on their favourite flat racing stars.

The race itself was formerly held at Newmarket on the Rowley Mile but has now moved to Ascot to form part of Champions Day, while it involves a distance of 2 miles. It is for thoroughbreds aged three and older and it is a Group Three affair.

It the final major long distance race of the British season and  there is £200,000 in prize money on offer for the race. In terms of looking at potential winners ant tips in the ante-post betting, it is worth noting that Barry Hills has enjoyed plenty of success in recent years, winning seven times, thanks in large part to Further Flight, who won this race on five consecutive occasions from 1991 to 1995.
