Lexus Chase Betting

The Lexus Chase is held each year at the December Christmas Festival at Leopardstown Racecourse. The race in Ireland is a Grade 1 National Hunt race, and involves horses aged 5 years of age and over competing against one another. The 2011 Lexus Chase takes place on 28th December.

The race is run over 3 miles and involves 17 fences to be jumped. It was first held in 1986 and since then many great horses, jockeys and trainers have graced the race.

The race itself often acts as a trial for the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March, and it is a good idea to check out the odds for Cheltenham alongside this race. Winners of this race have often gone on to do well at the season's pinnacle. When considering your ante-post bet it is worth taking a look at the pedigree of past winners who include Denman and What A Friend. The most successful horse ever at this race with three wins is Beef or Salmon. There was a suprise in the 2011 Lexus Chase as English raider Synchronised took the spoils by eight and a half lengths from Rubi Light, with Quito De La Roque well beaten back in third.
