Lennox Stakes Betting

There are few more entertaining and exciting meetings that the Glorious Goodwood meeting in July as some of the finest horses in flat racing compete. With five days of racing, there is always plenty of betting markets and odds to keep the most avid punter interested.

The Lennox Stakes takes place on the opening day of the meeting and it is a Group Two race for thoroughbreds aged four and over. The race involves a distance of seven furlongs and got its name from the Duke Of Lennox. It was first a Group Three race when it replaced the Beeswing Stakes in 2000 and it has attracted some fine horses to its racecard.

The stables of Saeed Bin Suroor, Henry Cecil and Marcus Tregoning have all trained winners and they could be worth looking out for in the ante-post betting this year, while a recent trend of 3 year olds doing well could be worth noting.

5/2 ante-post favourite Strong Suit notched the Richard Hannon-Richard Hughes' team's first winner of the Goodwood Festival in the feature race of the opening day. Hannon always looked in control as Strong Suit travelled well, before Hannon urged himon and he duly showed an explosive turn of pace to leave the rest floundering, with Red Jazz and Beacon Lodge following in behind.
