Lancashire Oaks Betting

The Lancashire Oaks takes place each during early July at the famous Haydock Park racecourse as some of the best thoroughbred fillies and mares in flat racing compete. The horses are aged 3 years old and over and the Group Two race involves a trip of 1 mile, 3 furlongs and 200 yards.

In terms of considering you ante-post bet it could be worth looking out for horses from Henry Cecil, or Sir Henry as he is now known. Cecil has trained seven winners of the race during his prestigious career in horse racing and the odds of his entries are likely to be short.

Also, in 2010 David Elsworth's Barshiba became the first horse to win the race more than once as she successfully defended the crown she won in 2009. Repeat wins are clearly a rare feat in this race, which is again worth consideration when looking at the bookmakers' odds for what is now a high class race since it was elevated to Group 2 status in 2004.

Getrude Bell took advantage of ante-post favourite Vita Nova's misfortune to take victory in this Group Two for John Gosden looked certain to win but her saddle slipped and she had to settle for second.
