The Timeform Jury Stakes, or John of Gaunt Stakes as it is also known, is run at Haydock Park racecourse during late May, or sometimes early June, each year.
It is a Group Three race for horses aged four years old and over, and it is an exciting part of the flat racing season for punters.
The race itself is named after John of Gaunt, who was the 14th century Duke of Edinburgh, and it has since proven a popular race for many of the top trainers since it was granted Group Three status from its Listed level.
When considering the ante-post betting, it is well worth noting that John Gosden has a great record in the race, having trained four winners over the years. While the odds of Sir Michael Stoute's contenders are as always worth looking out for as he continues to enhance his reputation in the sport, with his Main Aim claiming glory in 2009 and 2010.
Other important flat races still to come this season include the prestigious Epsom Derby and Epsom Oaks.
